The Garden of Eden

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_04-06.jpg

Genesis 1:1, 2:4-6
In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth. No plant or shrub had yet sprung up, for Yahweh God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no one to till the soil. Moisture would well up from the earth and water the surface of the ground.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_07a.jpg

Genesis 2:7
Yahweh God formed man from the soil of the ground.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_07b.jpg

Genesis 2:7
And breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_07c.jpg

Genesis 2:7
And man became a living creature.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_08-09.jpg

Genesis 2:8-9
Yahweh God planted a garden in Eden, and there he put the man he had formed. Yahweh God caused to sprout every tree that is pleasing to look at and good for food, with the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_15.jpg

Genesis 2:15
Yahweh God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to look after and maintain it.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_16-17.jpg

Genesis 2:16-17
Yahweh God commanded the man, saying, 'From every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat. For the day that you eat from it you will surely die.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_18.jpg

Genesis 2:18
Yahweh God said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone. I shall make him a helper.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_19.jpg

Genesis 2:19
From the ground Yahweh God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the sky.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_19-20.jpg

Genesis 2:19-20
He brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all the cattle, every bird of the sky, and every animal of the field. But no suitable helper was found for the man.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_21a.jpg

Genesis 2:21
Then Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to fall on the man.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_21b.jpg

Genesis 2:21
And as he slept, Yahweh God took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_22a.jpg

Genesis 2:22
And from the rib which Yahweh God had taken from the man...

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_22b.jpg

Genesis 2:22
...he made a woman, and brought her to the man.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_23.jpg

Genesis 2:23
The man said, 'This at last is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called woman, because she was taken out of man.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn02_25.jpg

Genesis 2:25
And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_01.jpg

Genesis 3:1
Now the snake was the shrewdest of any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, 'Has God really said, "You shall not eat from any tree of the garden?"'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_02-03.jpg

Genesis 3:2-3
The woman said to the snake, 'We may eat the fruit from the trees of the garden, but of the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden, God has said, "Do not eat from it, and do not even touch it, or else you will die."'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_04-05.jpg

Genesis 3:4-5
The snake said to the woman, 'Surely you will not die! For God knows that on the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_06a.jpg

Genesis 3:6 The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and desirable for the knowledge it could give, and she took fruit from it.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_06c.jpg

Genesis 3:6
She gave some to her husband who was with her.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_07a.jpg

Genesis 3:7
The eyes of both them were opened, and they knew that they were naked.

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_09.jpg

Genesis 3:9
Yahweh God called to the man, and said to him, 'Where are you?'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_10.jpg

Genesis 3:10
The man said, 'I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid myself.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_11.jpg

Genesis 3:11
God said, 'Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_12.jpg

Genesis 3:12
The man said, 'The woman you gave me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate it.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_14-15.jpg

Genesis 3:14-15
Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers. They will strike your head, and you will strike their heel.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_16.jpg

Genesis 3:16
To the woman he said, 'I will greatly increase your suffering during childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.'

http://www.thebricktestament.com/genesis/garden_of_eden/gn03_22-23.jpg

Genesis 3:22-23
Yahweh God said, 'The man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must be prevented from reaching out his hand to take from the tree of life, lest he eat from it and also live forever!' Therefore Yahweh God sent him away from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
